Convicting Poem

Disturb us, Lord, when
We are too pleased with ourselves,
When our dreams have come true
Because we dreamed too little,
When we arrived safely
Because we sailed too close to the shore.
Disturb us, Lord, when
with the abundance of things we possess
We have lost our thirst
For the waters of life;
Having fallen in love with life,
We have ceased to dream of eternity
And in our efforts to build a new earth,
We have allowed our vision
Of the new Heaven to dim.
Disturb us, Lord, to dare more boldly,
To venture on wilder seas
Where storms will show Your mastery;
Where losing sight of land,
We shall find the stars.
We ask you to push back
The horizons of our hopes;
And to push back the future
In strength, courage, hope, and love.
This we ask in the name of our Captain,
Who is Jesus Christ.

Hail storm in Abilene

Working at State Farm has been interesting the past week. We had huge fires in Possum Kingdom that have burned up over 150 houses so far including one of our insured's house that was worth $600,000. Crazy! Then on Sunday we had a huge hail storm and our office has been taking claims nonstop since then. We took about 260 claims yesterday and today is supposed to be just as crazy. Here's a picture of the smaller hail that we had in the middle of town. Abilene had grapefruit sized hail on the south side of town.

Luggage Tags

We got our FREE luggage tags in the mail. So sad...but I'm very excited about them. And I want to try them out on a trip...tomorrow?? Yes please.

I love Levi Bryce

"We are all a little weird and life's a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall into mutual weirdness and call it love." - Dr. Seuss

And yes...my mouth automatically opens when I jump :)

Camping in Fredericksburg!!

Levi, my sister and her boyfriend Lark and I all went camping in Fredericksburg this past weeked! It was SO fun! We first drove in to Pedernales Falls and went swimming, then went and explored Fredericksburg and ate at Mamacitas, then went to the KOA camping sites and camped out! The next morning we went to Enchanted Rock and hiked around, then stopped at little towns on the way back to Abilene. It was the PERFECT weekend! We used a lot of our camping stuff that we got for our wedding and it's crazy how much we have! We are so blessed.

Also...I put up a picture of Lark in a waterfall which the 3 L's will find really funny because Levi keep encouraging Lark to climb into the waterfall...then we realized it was covered in MILLIONS of little leeches. Literally. So i stuck in a picture of the leeches too. It took him a while to get them all off!

Ohhh I miss AUSTIN!

Reasons I love Austin and I REALLY miss it today:

1. Green grass
2. Water everywhere that is mostly blue, and does not have cars, dead animals etc. in it
3. Festivals happening all the time
4. Places to explore that won't make you end up somewhere scary
5. Green grass
6. My family
7. Levi's family
8. Tall trees that provide dappled sunlight
9. Barton Springs
10. Green grass
11. Soft breeze, not blow-your-contacts-out wind
12. Free concerts to good bands
13. Relaxed atmosphere
14. Casual clothes
15. Green grass
16. South Congress
17. Chuy's, Chuy's, Chuy's
18. Woods to explore near my house and Levi's house...which we don't normally explore when we're home but the fact that they exist in Austin...so great.
19. Hey Cupcake
20. Green nature exists

Well...Happy Tuesday! Levi and I have a banquet tonight that Beltway is hosting for all the people involved with Children's Ministry at the church. That should be fun! And I'm bringing dinner to the Smith's tonight since they just had their little baby Caden! Life is great in Abilene, but ohhh how I miss nature. And our families. And Austin in general. One day!
